Inside each tooth lies a small chamber called the pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels. If this area becomes infected due to decay, cracks, or trauma, you may experience pain, swelling, or sensitivity to heat and cold. Left untreated, the infection can spread, leading to an abscess or the loss of the tooth.

A root canal removes the source of infection from inside the tooth, disinfects the canals, and seals them to prevent future problems. The procedure not only relieves discomfort but also allows you to keep your natural tooth for many years to come.

When a root canal may be needed

What to expect during treatment

Your dentist will begin by taking a digital x-ray to assess the tooth and plan your treatment precisely. Once the area is numbed, a small opening is made to reach the infected tissue inside the tooth. The damaged pulp is carefully removed, and the root canals are cleaned and shaped. The space is then sealed with a durable filling material to prevent reinfection.

In many cases, a crown is recommended after root canal treatment to strengthen the tooth and protect it from fracture. Your dentist will discuss this with you in detail and design a restoration that blends naturally with your surrounding teeth.

We take every measure to ensure your experience is as calm and comfortable as possible. Most treatments are completed over one or two visits, depending on the complexity of the case.
